Rules and Specification

A. BODIES

1.Type: Any American made car, 1950 thru 1963. No trucks or convertibles. Rear wheel drive only.

2.Body: Body and frame is required to be of same make and year.

3.Doors: Doors must be bolted or welded shut. No chain or straps allowed. Stock doors only.

4.Fenders: Fenders required.

5.Hood: Hood mandatory.

6.Interior: All glass and interior must be removed. Stock fire walls and floor pan required. Must seal compartment at body points and connect and seal to floor pan front. All floor pans must extend from side to side of both sides of body panels, and run from front fire wall to even with the backside of back roll cage hoop minimum, and totally cover all drive train components in front of and under driver.

7.Paint: All cars must have neat appearing paint and lettering. Numbers must be a minimum of 18 inches tall. 1 per side and 1 on the top. No primer paint jobs.

8.Windshield: Windshield area must be covered in a safe manner. 1/4 inch rod optional. Must cover ½ of windshield opening. Wire mesh recommended. No mirrors.

9.Not Allowed: No chopped tops, no wings, no fiber glass bodies, or body parts. No spoilers. No narrowed or shortened bodies. Stock only.

B. ENGINES

1.Type: Any American production O.E.M. overhead valve, eight cylinder, six cylinder, flat head or straight 8s. No V6s, or overhead cam engines. All engines must be of 1980 production style or prior, Required to be of same make of body and frame.

2.Block: Must be stock O.E.M. type. No after market blocks of any type allowed. No marine, bow tie, S.V.O. or aluminum blocks allowed. Stock means Stock.

3.Cubic Inch: No engine is to exceed 320 cubic inch. Maximum .060 overbore allowed. No strokers allowed! Crank and rods must be stock stroke, and length for make and model. No Aluminum rods.

4.Camshaft: No roller cams or lifters. No mushroom cams or lifters. Timing components O.E.M. type only. No gear drives.

5.Crankshaft: Stock stroke only.

6.Carburetor: 1-500 cfm 2 bbl only. Box stock.. Choke may be removed, No polishing.

7.Cooling System:One stock type front mounted radiator. No rear mounted radiators. Aluminum allowed.

8.Exhaust: Any type header. Keep in mind some tracks have muffler rules.

9.Fuel: Gas only. No alcohol.

10.Heads: Any stock O.E.M. head. All heads must be of 1980 production style or prior. Roller rocker arms and screw in studs allowed. No angle plug heads. No porting or polishing allowed. No fly cutting or angle milling allowed. No after market bow tie, world parts, dart, etc.heads allowed. No aluminum heads.

11.Ignition: Stock O.E.M. type single or dual point type or electronic. Performance coils allowed. No M. S. D. type ignitions or magnetos allowed.

12.Intake manifolds: Must be dual plane. Steel or aluminum.1975 style or earlier. No after market Bow tie, Brezinzki, Marine, Dart,etc. No Air gap or tunnel rams. Spacers and adaptors allowed 1 inch maximum. No grinding in plenum. Open plenum allowed for 6 cyl's and flatheads only. No fabricated intakes. 4 bbl allowed for 6 cyl's and flatheads only. No polishing.

13.Oiling: Stock O.E.M. type pumps only. No internal or external dry sump pumps. Any type oil pan allowed. Remote oil filter allowed for clearance. Oil coolers allowed must be mounted outside of drivers compartment.

14.Pistons: Flat top only 2 or 4 valve relief. Cast or forged. No piston or part of is to extend past the deck surface of block. No piston is to exceed '0' deck height at top dead center.

15.Pumps: Stock type water pump. Stock type manual fuel pump. Electric fuel pump allowed must have some type of safety shut off in place and operational. Combination of manual and electric fuel pumps not allowed. No belt drive fuel pumps. No drive train driven pumps of any kind. Power steering pumps stock only. No after market.

16.Pulleys: Stock type only. Aluminum Ok. Steel balancers only must have balancer bolt. No fluid dampeners.

17.Flathead Engines: May have multiple carburetion or fuel injection. Aluminum heads and intakes allowed. Stroking or destroking allowed. Cubic inch same as overhead valve. 320 cubic inch plus .060 overbore. Magnetos allowed. If using a Arden conversion it will be considered as overheads and will abide by rules and specifications in Section B. 1 thru 16 with the exception of magnetos.

18. 6 cyl's must abide all other engine rules other than exceptions stated.

C. FRAMES AND SUSPENSION

1.Type: Any American production type frame 1950 thru 1963. Required to match make and year of body.

2.Frames: Frames may be boxed for strength. Frame rails must remain stock front to rear. Front sub may be replaced with a stock later model sub, must remain GM to GM Ford to Ford etc. Frame must remain stock from firewall to the back. No tube frames allowed. See rule 7 for Suspension.

3.Roll cage: Must be welded to frame at six points all back, top, and front hoops and down legs must be built of 1 1/2 inches in diameter 0.95 wall thickness tubing minimum. Door bars three horizontal per side minimum 1 1/2 in diameter 0.95 wall thickness minimum. Three vertical 1 1/2 inches minimum between door bars each side. Door bars must connect front and rear cage hoops. Back of cage must be "X"ed.

4.Set back: Engine set back not to exceed 1 inch from the center of ball joint to number one spark plug hole, maximum.

5.Bumpers: Bumpers not to extend past outer edge of any tire. No sharp edges or corners.

6.Wheel base: 108 inches minimum. Must remain stock to body and make.

7.Suspension: Suspension must match year and make of body and frame. Coil or leaf springs allowed. No changing from leaf to coil or coil to leaf. Coil only on front in stock location. All coil springs will be a minimum of 5 inches. Racing springs allowed. No fiberglass springs of any type. Weight jacks front and rear allowed. No hydraulic jacks of any kind. Front suspension must remain stock, a arms and all linkage.1 solid pull bar mounted on top of rear end or 2 solid pull bars mounted to axle tubes 1 on each side allowed. Panhard or sway bar allowed front and rear. No 5th arms, lift bars, reese bars, spring bars, of any style or type allowed. No birdcages, Jacobs ladders, or brake floaters. No sliders.

8.Rear end: Any racing type, floater, quick change or ¾ ton No aluminum tubes.

9.Shocks: One per wheel only. Heim end Allowed. No aluminum or coil over type allowed. May be mounted outside of stock location. Cost not to exceed $70.00 No adjustable shock mounts. No air shocks.

10.Hubs: Wide 5 hubs allowed. All hubs must have 5 lugs minimum. Stock lugs and nuts to be replaced with long studs and 1 inch lug nuts.

11.Brakes: Four wheel brakes mandatory. This means operational at all times. Drum or disc allowed. Disc must have stock O.E.M. steel calipers and rotors, no aluminum. After market pedals allowed. Brakes cannot be adjusted by driver when in motion. No brake valves of any type.

12.Steering: Any type, power optional, center steering optional. No rack and pinion allowed.

13.Weight: All cars 3000 lbs minimum. after race with driver. 200 lbs of moveable weight is allowed. Must be bolted in place, No hose clamps or wire. Must be painted white with car number on it.

D. SAFETY

1.Driver: Must wear safety approved fire suit and full face helmet. Fire proof gloves Mandatory! Shoes, hood, and neck brace are optional but highly recommended.

2.Belts: Must be 4 or 3 point 3 inch wide quick release racing belts and shoulder harness only. Sub strap recommended. Belts must be mounted directly to cage, or seat bracket by grade 8, ½ inch bolts. No chain mounted belts allowed.

3.Fire Extinguisher: All cars must be equipped with fully charged fire extinguisher, accessible, and reachable by driver when belted in car. Multi-nozzle, quick release systems allowed and recommended.

4.Fuel cell: Mandatory. 16 gallons maximum. Tip over valve and can mandatory. Mount must consist of no less than 1 inch square tubing from frame rail to frame rail. With no less than 2 inch flat strap 1/16 inch thick surrounding fuel cell at least twice and connected safely to the mount. Must be located in rear trunk area of car. Any floor pan or obstruction which would trap fuel below cell must be removed. All fuel lines must be braided or racing type fuel line. All fittings must be screw on type with barb type end for fuel line. This means all fuel line connections from fuel cell to carburetor and back to the cell. Also meaning there will be NO hose clamps, neoprene or metal fuel lines allowed. Fuel shut off valve within reach of driver while belted in car mandatory.

5.Seats: Aluminum racing type seats only. No fiber glass, boat, or bucket seats allowed. If using a sprint car style ½ seat must be equipped with a head rest.

6.Switches: On and off switch must be within the reach of driver while belted in car and within reach from outside of car.

E. TRANSMISSION AND DRIVE TRAIN

1.Bell housing: Stock type only. Blow proof recommended. Stock type must have a ¼ inch scatter shield or SEMA approved blanket.

2.Clutches: Stock O.E.M. type clutch and pressure plate only. Paddle type clutch disc allowed. No mini clutches, ram coupler, direct drives, or crower glides allowed. Hydraulic throw out bearings allowed. Hydraulic slave cylinder for stock arm allowed.

3.Drive shafts: Stock Type only. No Aluminum. All cars must have drive shaft loop around front and rear of drive shaft. Drive shaft must be painted white.

4.Fly wheels: Aluminum and steel allowed.

5.Transmission: Any stock O.E.M. production type allowed. All forward and reverse gears must be in working order and pull car under a load. No after market type transmissions. No Bert, Brinn, etc. allowed. Automatic transmissions allowed but must be stock production type with converter. 10 inch dummy converter optional. No After market transmissions allowed, T.C.I., B&M, etc.

F. TIRES AND WHEELS

1.Tires: Any D.O.T. or racing tire allowed.

2.Wheels: Any type racing wheel allowed steel only 10" wide maximum. If using stock steel wheels they must have a 1/4 inch plate welded behind wheel center for strength. No chrome reverse wheels. No after market or stock mag type steel or aluminum wheels. No bead locks or locking devices of any type. No screws of any type to be used in wheel or tire bead.

          If it is not in these rules, it does not mean it is legal, or that it will be allowed.
